🎓 It’s National Transfer Student Week, and we’re celebrating students like Sarah Keller, who prove that hard work and resilience can truly change lives. Sarah, now more than seven years sober, overcame personal challenges and went from being an inmate at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to working there as a corrections officer. Her passion for helping others led her to enroll in UNK’s online Social Work program after completing her degree at Metropolitan Community College. Sarah’s story is one of perseverance and determination. After conquering her fear of transferring to a university, she’s thriving at UNK, balancing her coursework with a full-time job and family life. Her education has already opened doors—she’s now a case manager at a homeless shelter in Omaha, making a real impact on people’s lives. UNK’s online programs are perfect for transfer students like Sarah who want to continue their education without relocating. With flexible, affordable options, you can earn your degree right where you are. Learn more about UNK’s online programs and transfer opportunities! 🙌✨ Read Sarah's Story: https://lnkd.in/g3hK5qBj #NationalTransferStudentWeek #TransferStudent #SocialWork #OnlineEducation #PoweroftheHerd

“Unfortunately, there are limited scholarship opportunities for graduate students at UNK, and I would love to see that change. UNK’s One Day for UNK is the perfect opportunity to make these scholarships a reality, and it can only happen with the continued support of our generous donors.” – Dr. Mark Ellis, Dean of Graduate Studies and Academic Innovation Last year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Graduate Student Association (GSA) and Graduate Studies and Academic Innovation raised over $650 to help graduate students thrive. This year, we’re aiming even higher in hopes of creating a new graduate student scholarship and offering more opportunities for our online and graduate students. And you can help! 🎓💙 UNK’s 24-hour giving day, #OneDayforUNK, returns November 13-14, noon to noon. But why wait? You can give boldly today!
