  • Yesterday we proudly kicked off the 10th anniversary of the Lawson Ensemble with a memorable reception attended by students, faculty, friends and special guests! A special highlight of the evening was hearing from Rohan Patel, a longtime friend of cellist Nick Curry, who delivered heartfelt remarks about Nick and the value of the arts. Since its formation in 2015, the Lawson Ensemble has been a beacon of chamber music excellence. Founding members Aurica Duca, Clinton Dewing, and Nick Curry have dedicated themselves to performing and sharing their craft with UNF and the Jacksonville community. Their residency at UNF has allowed them to inspire audiences through performances on campus, in Jacksonville, and around the region. From their tours with the San Marco Chamber Music Society to their recordings for Albany Records, the ensemble continues to make a significant mark in the world of chamber music. Aurica and Clinton, both full-time members of the Jacksonville Symphony, along with Nick, UNF’s Associate Professor of Cello, have made the Lawson Ensemble a vital part of the musical landscape. Here’s to celebrating a decade of extraordinary music and looking forward to many more years of creative and inspiring performances! 🎶✨ Many thanks to the UNF School of Music, Kaveri Subrahmanyam, Anne-Marie Campbell, Katelyn Ryan, Jenna DuPilka, MPA, Al Peterson and many others who made the event such a wonderful celebration! #LawsonEnsemble #10Years #ChamberMusic #UNF

  • Did you know? 🌿 The William C. Webb Coastal Research Station, located on 1,050 acres of salt marsh along the Intracoastal Waterway, was generously donated to University of North Florida in 2017. This unique site offers UNF students and faculty a living lab for extensive research and ongoing monitoring of the salt marsh ecosystem. 🌱 Explore the station through the 3D interactive tour!
