The orthopedic center includes more than 65 board-certified orthopedic surgeons who are fellowship-trained, the highest level of medical training in the U.S. These specialists are clinical professors on the faculty of Brown University’s medical school as teachers of other new physicians, and leading the way with clinical research of the latest advances in orthopedic surgery and injury prevention.     For today's #TeamMemberTuesday we are shinning the spotlight on Samantha Martinelli. Samantha has been with OCPN/ UOI since July of 2017, and works as a CMA out of our Raynham location. As one of our Lead CMA'S some of Samantha's responsibilities include. Overseeing projects and supervising day to day staff clinical operations. Identifying performance concerns and provide coaching. · Monitoring patient’s environmental safety (e.g., fall precautions, faulty equipment, transmission precautions). Completing records by recording patients examinations, treatments, and test results. When speaking to her supervisor she had this to say." Samantha is the definition of a team player . She is always willing to help wherever needed . She has great leadership skills and sets and example for the Raynham Staff . We could not do what we do with out her." When Samantha is no at work being a great asset she has many hobbies. crafting , crystal mining, and taking spin classes to name a few. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, and kayaking . When asked what she enjoys most about working at UOI Samantha said. "Being able to help the numerous amount of patients with their needs.  I also really enjoy my co-workers, from my Supervisor to the CMAs, Front Desk etc. Each of them have a huge impact in the way we run our Raynham location. I can't thank them enough for all their hard work. Lastly working along side Dr. Mandel has been an honor, and has helped me grow tremendously as a medical assistant."     For today's #TeamMemberTuesday we are shining the spotlight on Kayla Imbruglio. Kayla started her employment with UOI in November of 2022 . She currently works at out East Greenwich location as a Front Desk Receptionist . In her role some of Kayla's responsibilities include . Locating and processing referrals at the time of the patients visit. Completing patient check-in and check-out for a specific office location and pod. Promoting a culture of service excellence by exceeding the expectations of our patients, visitors, coworkers, and therapists, and physicians. When Speaking to Kayla's Manager and asking why she felt Kayla deserves this weeks spotlight she had this to say " Kayla is on point with all her job duties. She is sweet, kind hearted, greets everyone with a smile. So many patients tell me how pleasant she is. She knows patients by their name before she even checks them in. She is dependable, works well with all her teammates. She is truly a gem. When Kayla is not here taking great care of our patients she enjoys many hobbies . Hunting for sea glass, reading books, and baking just to name a few . She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family . The thing that Kayla enjoys most about working at UOI are her coworkers . She said they are all extremely kind and friendly to work with. Kayla UOI thanks you for the great job that you are doing !!

    For today's #TeamMemberTuesday we are spotlighting Theresa Costa Kariuki. Theresa started with UOI in October of 2022 and currently works at our Mansfield location as a Therapy Receptionist. As a Therapy Receptionist some of Theresa's responsibilities include. Scheduling therapy patient appointments, checking patient’s insurance benefits, and collecting co-payments. · Answering and returning therapy phone calls; communicating with insurance companies. Discharging patients / Providing episodes of care from the therapy schedule. When speaking to Theresa's manager he had this to say " Theresa Costa Kariuki is well deserving of recognition. She has been integral in making the Mansfield PT site function so smoothly. Her dedication to a patient focused approach has earned her much praise from our patients. Her knowledge and willingness to manage through difficult situations has been highly commendable" In Theresa's free time she enjoys listening to music , sitting near the water ,and spending time with her friends and family . When asked what she enjoys most about working for UOI Theresa said its the fact that everyone works as a team to get the job done . Theresa UOI thanks you for the thoughtful care you provide to our patients and for making a difference each and every day 😊

    For this weeks # Team Member Tuesday we are spotlighting Allie Carreiro . Allie was hired in May of 2021 . She is the Administrative Assistant/ Surgical Coordinator for Dr Kuris, and works out of our Kettle Point Location In her role, some of Allie's responsibilities include. Ensuring that all appropriate paperwork is completed prior to scheduling procedures. Ensuring correct codes and patient information is provided to the OR booking offices. Contacting insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization as required. Communicating all necessary information to patients regarding arrival, pre-and post-op instructions and appointments required for their procedure. When speaking to Allies manger she had this to say ." Allie is an amazing team player . She is always willing to help her new teammates in the spine division . She also does a wonderful job of training new admins as well." When Allie is not at work, some of her favorite things to do are cooking, baking, and spending time with Family . Allie says what she enjoys most about working at UOI is , The flexibility her job offers her, as well as the opportunities . She also said that when she was hired she was only 23 years old and feels a lot of companies would not have taken the chance that UOI did with her . Allie, UOI thanks you for your dedication and the wonderful job that you are doing . Keep up the great work !! 😊

    For today's #TeamMemberTuesday we are shining the spotlight on Alisha Beaulieu. Alisha started her employment with UOI in July of 2021 and works as an X-ray Tech out of our Easton and Raynham locations . As a X-RAY tech some of Alisa's responsibilities include: Properly identifying and preparing patients for radiologic procedures. Performing x-ray exams while following established protocols and procedures for patient care and safety. Accurately selecting the correct patient, anatomy, and protocols to complete the exam. Ensuring equipment is functioning properly and reporting any malfunctions to the lead technologist. When talking to Alisha's Manager she had this to say . "Alisha is an awesome team player. She is always willing to assist others, and is always looking for ways to help her team and patients". When Alisha is not at work she likes to go camping, go to the beach, and spend time with her family . Alisha has had the opportunity this summer to travel to Maine and New Hampshire, and will be going to Hershey Park soon! Alisha, UOI would like to thank you for being such a great team player, and for all the hard work that you do . Keep up the great job !! 😊

    For Today's #TeamMemberTuesday we are shining the spotlight on Andrew Gibson. Andrew is one of UOI'S, CMA'S and works at all of our RI locations. As a CMA some of Andrew's responsibilities include · Verifying patient information by interviewing patients, reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment. Educating patients and family by providing medication and diet information and instructions, answering questions. Helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises. When speaking to Andrew's Manager he had this to say . " Andrew has excelled at his medical assistant role. He is extremely adaptable to all specialties in orthopedics. He has been requested by many providers to work in their clinics. He is one of the most reliable and dedicated individuals to UOI and his role" . When Andrew is not at work he likes to spend his time reading, writing and going on walks . He has plans this Summer to meet up with some old friends and spend time with them . When asked what he liked most about working at UOI Andrew said this . " I like being able to learn new things, from all the wonderful and kind people who I have the absolute pleasure working with ."     For today's #TeamMemberTuesday we are shining the spotlight on Josefina Tirado . Josefina started her employment with UOI in September of 2021. She currently works as one of our Front Desk Receptionist/Schedulers at our Kettle Point location in the ASC Department. In her daily job, some of her responsibilities include. Working in conjunction with support staff, RN’s, physicians, anesthesia, administrative assistants, and billing to ensure smooth operations. Assisting in medical records completion to ensure accuracy and compliance. Management of block time, scheduling, and cancelations, and assisting with the total joint program by scheduling services. When speaking to Josefina's manger she had this to say ."Josefina demonstrates outstanding dedication and commitment . She consistently delivers high-quality work and exhibits a strong work ethic. She willingly takes on extra responsibilities to meet the department's needs and communicates effectively with the team.  In my absence, Josefina assumed a leadership role and efficiently managed the department, ensuring seamless operations." When Josefina is not hard at work she enjoys bike riding, taking small hikes with her family and painting with her daughter. She loves to be outdoors in the sun, and at the beach 🏖 as much as possible. Josefina says she plans on taking a few weekend trips this summer ,and going to water parks with her family. When asked what she likes most about working at UOI Josefina said. "I like the friendly environment. I like that it is always busy and my management is wonderful, extremely flexible and accommodating. The great water view is a plus!! Josefina we would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication. For stepping up when needed, and for the dedication you show each and every day to UOI . Keep up the wonderful job that you are doing 😊

    For today's #TeamMemberTuesday we are shining the spotlight on Alexandra Oliveira . Alexandra started with UOI in February of 2022 and works as a Appointment Coordinator in our PAC Department at our Virginia Ave location . As an Appointment Coordinator some of Alexandra's duties include . Promptly answering the telephone, using positive and clear communication. Schedule appointments – triage patient problems and schedule with the appropriate UOI physician. Prepare patients for appointment-what to bring, location, etc. (including insurance card, medications, office visit fee, parking, etc.). Alexandra's Manager says she has an excellent work ethic .She puts in 100% every single day. And she is always ready and willing to help her Team . When Alexandra is not hard at work setting an example for others, you may find her indulging in one of her favorite hobbies. Right now one of her favorite things to do is crafting, specifically crocheting . She also like to play video games , and go on hikes . Alexandra will be taking some time off this summer to go and visit family in Portugal !! When asked what she likes most about working for UOI she said " Having coworkers who are kind and willing to help whenever needed " Alexandra we thank you for the job that you are doing. Keep up the great work !!! 😁
