"Identifying a pattern that has never existed before in a data set, without any human prompting—the NLP equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack." 🔍 Read what else goes into powering our real-time issue detection 🔎
I keep saying I'm done posting insights for a while, and then Unwrap.ai builds a new feature set, it identifies something very cool, and I'm left with no choice. The new feature set? Vastly improved real-time issue detection. This problem is so, so hard. You need: - To identify a pattern that has never existed before in a data set, without any human prompting. The NLP equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack. - Find all the related customer feedback comments talking about the newly detected issue and then accurately tag them. - Correctly interpret that the issue you're detecting is actionable and is truly a trend and not just noise. (plus probably a lot of other technical challenges I don't fully understand and am missing...) Credit to Max Dekle for his incredible work here. Also credit to SoundCloud for setting a new record on the time between issue detection -> issue resolution. Less than 2 days! Hila Enoch Maria von Watzdorf Tobias R.

Plan all you like. But when it comes to altering pricing structures, it's the post-change chatter companies need to be ready to track and listen to. We'll help you keep your ear to the ground 👂
Another example of a company in a competitive space (Poshmark) changing their pricing structure and then seeing a corresponding spike in feedback from customers who are both complaining about the change and mentioning that they plan to switch to a competitive app. Just as I said last week when MyFitnessPal put a few features behind a paywall and saw an increase in negative feedback, I don't think this is a bad business decision and I'm certain Poshmark has spent a lot of time modeling out how customers would respond + evaluating financial ramifications. But I do think if you’re in a fairly commoditized space this is the type of community reaction you're going to see when product changes effect consumers' wallets. Keep ‘em coming Max!
Not breaking news; customers do not like paywalls. Most apps make the decision to paywall more and more features over time and it looks like MyFitnessPal added 'barcode scanning' to that list a few days ago. Certainly not pointing the finger at them, you have to run a business after all, but what I found interesting is that a lot of the feedback Unwrap.ai saw had a user complain about the problem and then explicitly mention they were switching to a competitor. It does make me wonder about the effect of paywalling too many features if you're in a relatively commoditized space. Anne Marie Bessacini Peter Chau, MBA Olivia Carlson

“At Finch, we're building a mental health app that tries to meet everyone where they're at—which means, every single user opinion matters deeply to us,” says Thomas (Nino) Aquinas Nugraha Budi, CEO and co-founder of Finch Care. “As more and more people use Finch, we needed to have the ability to keep up with each piece of nuanced feedback effectively and in a timely manner. Unwrap helps us do just that with their weekly digests, which contain real-time insights into exactly what our customers are saying.” “Now, if we're launching a new feature, we have the confidence that it'll resonate with users—all because Unwrap helped us understand what went well and what missed the mark following previous launches.” Our customer wins are our wins. 🤝 It’s what we're all about.
