Helping family-owned businesses thrive since 1993
About us
The UofL Family Business Center informs, celebrates, and strengthens family firms in the Kentuckiana region. Despite the prominence of family-owned businesses (80-90%), only 40% survive to the 2nd generation, 12% to the third, and 3%to the fourth. The University of Louisville Family Business Center (FBC) is committed to improving these statistics by offering resources designed to inform, strengthen and celebrate family-owned businesses. The FBC has helped many businesses build a strong foundation for family business governance, continuity, leadership transition, and growth. Interactive workshops, Roundtables, events, and educational forums provide FBC Members access to best practice knowledge to improve succession and survival rates for family-owned businesses.

Thank you to Dentons Bingham Greenebaum for hosting and sponsoring another great lunch and learn today featuring PR experts, Debra Locker Griffin and Kym Voorhees Raque! Some of our key takeaways from the event: - Having a PR presence is important to set the stage for success - not only for potential customers, but also so the community and the media gets to know you better. - Helpful hints for news releases - writing them, sharing them, and their value - And the importance of including communications components as part of your crisis management plan Thank you to those who attended and contributed to this meaningful conversation!
