UP University had a very busy week last week! Members gathered in Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finland to work on an Erasmus + KA2 proposal to promote entrepreneurship education through AI applications. Through this international collaboration, we aim to develop tools that foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students across Europe. Colleagues from FH Münster, Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, DOBA Business School and Universiteti 'Fan S. Noli' Korçë and IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences were represented! Three other Erasmus proposals will be submitted this week Our Coordinator and a representative from Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya attended the European Commission meeting "Shaping the Future: European Universities alliances for a Competitive Europe" to put the Alliance with a Seal of Excellence on the map!

After contemplating several cooperation possibilities, we are thrilled to announce the official launch of 𝐔𝐏 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, uniting universities from across Europe to create valuable opportunities in education and research. We share our commitment to applied education, interdisciplinary research and teaching, innovation, and cross-border collaboration. 🌟 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬! Our consortium will empower students, staff and researchers to take social responsibility in addressing present and future challenges. UP University was recognised by the European Commission as a high quality project proposal and received the Seal of Excellence in the highly competitive evaluation process for the European Universities call. While our project was not funded, the rectors of the European higher education institutions that constitute UP University are pleased with this recognition and positive feedback from the European Commission and remain committed to deepening their cooperation, using the Seal of Excellence to attract alternative funding.    Founded in 2019, the UP University consortium has continuously intensified its collaboration on education and research and looks forward to expanding its joint activities. As one of UP University’s rectors, Heidi Fagerholm from Oulu University of Applied Sciences, comments:   “The UP University network is a significant forum for international cooperation for Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Innovation HUB co-creation session with our stakeholders 🎉 We virtually kicked-off our #Innovation #Hub #network with 23 participants from 7 UP countries: organisations from our #regional #quadruplehelix’s like local city councils, chambers of commerce or other kind of stakeholders.  It was a first meeting to get to know each other and think about how to improve #innovation in our #regions through the UP Innovation HUB. "Empowered by meaningful experiences in nature" 🌄 Students learn elements of a meaningful experience as an #empowering #social and #participating #process. They plan and implement outdoor activities in nature in a safe and #ecological way, as a part of #interprofessional and #intercultural team. New insights and competences are gained and can be applied as a future professional. Ulla-Maija Törmälä from Oulu University of Applied Sciences: "This year, we had students from Finland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Ukraine, Lithuania and other countries for this Blended Intensive Programme (#BIP) with several UP partners participating in this adventure." A course they organise with great succes 👏 Already 600 students preceded them in the past 17 years, as long as this course has existed. 🎉

The 3rd #UPAcademy session brought colleagues together to learn about Oulu University of Applied Sciences impressive offerings for #student #entrepreneurs. In the "Oulu Innovation Alliance", the city of Oulu collaborates with OAMK, the University of Oulu, research centres and vocational education to create #Europe's best #entrepreneurship #eco-system to benefit students, researchers and the region. In a city regarded as world class for tech companies and often used as a test bed by companies. 🚀 How can we not learn from this? 1h online session creates so many #collaborative #opportunities to strengthen student entrepreneurship within UP University.
