I jumped at the opportunity to present with these amazing women at the Evercore Wealth Management, LLC #LevelingUp women’s conference. A recent Deloitte study estimated that: ✔️While women represent 47% of the total workforce in the US, they represent only 26% of data and AI positions. ✔️At the same time, 71% of women AND men working in AI and machine learning strongly agreed that adding women to AI and machine learning will bring a unique perspective to high tech …something that is needed in the industry. Led wonderfully by Neza Gallitano from Evercore, I was joined by Shubhi (Bhonsle) Rao of Uplevyl who shared fascinating technical insights about the #futureofAI and Elsa Ferreira who spoke to the practical applications internally. All three of us touched on the confidence gap in AI. According to a recent survey from Coursera, only 36% of women believe the progression of generative AI can advance their careers, compared to 45% of men. And Goldman Sachs suggests 80% of women’s jobs are at risk because of AI. So the time to level up - the theme of today’s conference - is now. The time to invest in our human talent is now. The time to reward the skillsets that cannot be replicated by technology is now. And the time to invest in women - and prioritize the #futureofwomen- is now.
