Congratulations to the twelve new Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians who graduated on May 3, 2024, from Upper Merion Fire & EMS training! With their addition, Upper Merion Township now has career fire personnel available 24/7, 365 days a year. Thanks to a FEMA SAFER grant of $3,666,331, covering salaries and benefits for three years, these hires mark a significant enhancement in emergency services. #UpperMerion #Firefighters #EMS #CommunityService

A huge shout out to the volunteers who came out to the planting of the Upper Merion Demonstration Rain Garden this past weekend! They planted over 1,000 perennials, 15 shrubs, and 6 trees! It was amazing work from a wonderful group of volunteers. We couldn't do it without you! Thank you! The new Upper Merion Demonstration Rain Garden is located just east of the Community Garden on Ross/Henderson Roads will capture and retain stormwater runoff, decreasing flooding in the township and improving water-quality in our streams. Additionally, through the planting of native plants and trees, the garden provides habitat for insects, birds and other wildlife.
