After conducting over 50 interviews in just 5 months (for multiple roles), I’ve found one of the most disappointing trends to be the lack of questions from candidates.
Asking questions demonstrates your enthusiasm, interest, and curiosity.
So, what’s holding you back from asking questions during an interview?
Do you feel that they won't be accepted? Do you feel the interviewer will see you as a trouble?
I get this, it can happen especially if you're nervous (which is very normal!)
But if you don't feel like you can ask questions or even worse, ask a question and the company doesn't respond or is rude, RUN! This is not the right company for you!
Remember, every candidate has both the right and the obligation to ask questions during an interview.
Here are a few of my recommendations:
❓ What does your ideal partnership look like? (to cross-functional partners)
❓ How is this team regarded by the rest of the company?
❓ If I were to be hired, what would I need to accomplish in the first 6 months to be considered a great hire? (to hiring manager or above)
What are some of your favorite questions to ask during an interview?
