Still basking in the glow of the much-anticipated opening of the historic Flat Iron Hotel last week!
For those outside my Asheville network, The Flat Iron Building, named for its triangular shape and designed by Albert Wirth, is a historic building faced with limestone and adorned with Beaux-Arts detailing. The Flat Iron Preservation Group has done incredible work restoring it.
Congrats to the whole team for a stellar opening, and thank you for having us. It was beyond impressive to see the historic preservation of this notable building with all the modern, thoughtful details like beverage bay stations that save space, provide complimentary snacks, and are more eco-friendly.
The hotel features:
Luminosa: An Italian eatery with a hyperlocal twist on Italian cuisine, with Asheville's beloved Graham House as the Executive Chef. The Luminosa bar transforms into a perfect coffee destination in the morning, "The Caffe," offering breakfast sandwiches, cappuccinos, and more. Creative and functional use of space!
The Flat Iron Rooftop: With phenomenal views of the French Broad River Valley and Great Smoky Mountains. (I could have stayed perched here in the sun forever 😅 ) They also have a "SkyBites" menu featuring small plates inspired by Luminosa's rustic wood-fire offerings.
A Speakeasy: Even better than you can imagine... but you'll have to find it on your own!
Coworking Space: Open to local membership as well as to hotel guests, Iron Works Coworking space is open Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm, with drop-in passes offering access to amenities for the day, week, or month. Very cool.

Naturally, we were super impressed by the transformation of this historic building. Their team was beyond hospitable, and as a local, I am definitely planning my next return :)
