    Share the love. ❤️ There is room for everyone. Competition is healthy, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t help other recruiters when I can. When I started my business Upward On 7 years ago, the first two recruiters I reached out to were Lori Gleeman and Angelo Giallombardo. I was naive and curious and excited and passionate about my vision to create a boutique recruitment firm that serviced the real estate industry. They were gracious and generous with their time and answered so many of my questions. (Lori Gleeman is the Founder/CEO of Soul Equity Solutions and Angelo Giallombardo is the VP at Central Executive Search. I never forget the ways in which colleagues have given a helping hand. Sharing the love is not only limited to rooting for someone else to succeed. If there is a candidate who is promising, or a client that I may not be able to onboard, I will refer them to other RE Recruiters. I do believe in business karma, and I believe that abundance is contagious. ❤️

    *How to SPOT great talent* As a recruiter with extensive experience since 2005, I’ve developed a keen eye for identifying standout candidates. Here are some key factors I focus on during interviews: 🚀Extracurricular Achievements: For entry-level candidates graduating from college, I pay close attention to their activities outside of their academic studies. Bonus points if they have led an organization or balanced a part-time job while in school. 🚀Career Progression: Employees with three or more years at the same company who have been promoted once or twice often catch my eye. This indicates a track record of success and growth within their current role. 🚀Career Consistency: Candidates whose careers show a clear theme—such as working within the same industry and progressively taking on new responsibilities—are particularly appealing. This demonstrates a focused career path and continuous growth. 🚀Communication Skills: Excellent communicators are invaluable assets. I make a note of candidates who can articulate their thoughts clearly and succinctly, as opposed to those who struggle to convey their points. 🚀Substance Over Charm: While charm can be captivating, it’s important not to be swayed solely by it.
