Thank you Dominic Di Cenzo and O&G Industries, Inc. for bringing awareness to ICF and the added benefits of using Urban Mining Industries - Pozzotive® by transforming post-consumer recycled bottles into a low-carbon, high-performance solution for concrete! #SustainableConstruction #BuildWithStrenght #Pozzotive
What is ICF and why do we use it in construction? Listen to Sam Fertik of Carbon Custom Builders and Nudura Insulated Concrete Forms' Ken Lynch discuss the advantages of insulated concrete form (ICF) construction and the energy savings home owners can realize when they build this way. There is also a discussion of concrete mix design and a greener concrete utilizing ground glass pozzolans. This particular home is located in Greenwich, Connecticut and Connecticut Ready Mixed Concrete Association member O&G Industries, Inc. is supplying concrete with Urban Mining Industries - Pozzotive® ground glass pozzolan in the concrete. This reduces the carbon footprint of the concrete construction. Give a look and listen! Want to know more or see this construction in person? Urban Mining Industries - Pozzotive® reposted this
Join us for this free webinar on June 4! Building owners, the AEC community, and others are looking for lower embodied carbon products, especially concrete which is at the top of the list for highest embodied carbon content in building materials. Finding viable solutions can be challenging with current Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and the complexity of supply chain transparency data can be an impediment to finding sustainable and healthier products. Harvard University’s climate goal is fossil fuel-free by 2050 (and fossil fuel-neutral by 2026), so the University prioritized fossil fuel-free replacements for cement in their building projects which is how it came to use Urban Mining Industries - Pozzotive® low-carbon, high performance substitute for cement made from previously unwanted waste glass – in one of its new building projects, a first in Massachusetts. Thank you Goody Clancy for hosting such a wonderful event, it was an honor to participate in the conversation! #HealthyMaterials #ClimateJustice #SustainableConstruction #Design #Architecture #BuildWithStrenght
At Goody Clancy, we continually ask, “How can we design healthier, more sustainable spaces for education?” and “What new products or innovations can help our clients meet their sustainability goals?” Our recent Green Day trade show event was a fantastic opportunity for our team to deepen our knowledge, find inspiration, and gather innovative ideas for our projects. During the event, twelve vendors at the forefront of sustainable design showcased their creative solutions for addressing climate challenges. Their offerings included everything from recycling chopsticks into ultra-durable furniture to developing lighting products that support a cradle-to-cradle lifecycle. Roxane Spears, who leads sustainability efforts in research, development, and communication at Tarkett North America, also delivered an insightful lunch-and-learn presentation on current sustainability trends and best practices. It was a great day of shared learning and inspiration. A heartfelt “thank you!” to all of the wonderful vendors who participated! A Pozzotive® Tour Big thanks go out to the South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) for joining us on a tour of the Urban Mining Industries - Pozzotive® facility in Beacon Falls, Connecticut. Your visit was an incredible opportunity to showcase our process of transforming post-consumer recycled bottles into a low-carbon, high-performance solution for concrete. Since its inception, Pozzotive® Ground Glass Pozzolan has saved over 50,000 tons of CO2 from being released from the manufacture of concrete and has diverted countless millions of glass bottles from our increasingly overburdened landfills. Our communities are benefiting from both the environmental benefits as well as gaining longer lasting, sustainable infrastructure and building projects. At UMI, we know that members of SCRCOG are the true change agents in driving both higher rates of recycling and sustainable construction in their communities and we are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate on both. Thanks again for thinking Pozzotive®! #Sustainability #UrbanMiningIndustries #SCRCOG #RecyclingInnovation #BuildWithStrenght #SustainbaleConstruction #Pozzotive®

Grateful for the opportunity to have Urban Mining Industries - Pozzotive® featured on the latest episode of the Harvard Business Review Cold Call Podcast. Special thanks to Professor Emeritus Robert Steven Kaplan and Assistant Professor Shirley Simiao Lu for their discussion on the importance of transparency, accuracy, and measurement in managing carbon emissions across supply chains. Under the direction of Heather Henriksen, Chief Sustainability Officer for Harvard University , Harvard is addressing these challenges head-on, and we're proud that Pozzotive® is in use in the construction of Harvard’s conference center, The David Rubenstein Treehouse. Listen to Cold Call Podcast Episode. https://hbs.me/Ep225
On the latest Cold Call episode, Professor Emeritus Robert Steven Kaplan and Assistant Professor Shirley Simiao Lu discuss the flow of emissions along the supply chain of Harvard University’s decarbonization strategy. Harvard aims to be fossil-fuel neutral by 2026 and totally free of fossil fuels by 2050. As part of this goal, the university is trying to decarbonize its supply chain, and is considering replacing cement with a low-carbon substitute called Urban Mining Industries - Pozzotive®, made with post-consumer recycled glass.
