USI is a charitable institution (under Section 88 of IRD) in HK engaging in urban research & conservation initiatives.

About us

Urban Studies Institute (USI) Limited is principally engaged in urban research, conservation initiatives, architecture and community design in Hong Kong, with the following objectives: 1. To foster the researches of urban planning, architecture, community and urban studies, with interdisciplinary perspectives and knowledge. 2. To form/construct the history and narration of Hong Kong urban evolution and development which help establishing the bases and rationale for the conservation of Hong Kong construction, urbanscape and natural environment. 3. To understand and discuss the urban space and built environment issues of Hong Kong with the public. 4. To facilitate and implement community design in Hong Kong, as a mean to deal with the social and urban topics. Urban Studies Institute was founded by Alfred Ho in 2017, for the setting up of Hong Kong Property Brochures Archive and the objectives above, and was granted the status of a charitable institution under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance in 2020.
