In a world like ours, where conflicts are increasingly covering the face of the earth, and where religions have failed to prevent it, if not contributed to it, why would interfaith matter? During a recent interview with Europe Times, Eric Roux, URI’s Global Council Chair had the opportunity to share insights on how the URI global network is promoting interfaith cooperation and working towards ending religiously motivated violence efforts at the global and grassroots level. URI Welcomes the newest Global Council Trustees who will offer their volunteer service from 2024 – 2028 following a democratic election by URI Cooperation Circles. The Global Council, URI’s governing body supports and guides URI’s fulfillment of its mission, vision and purpose, inherently stewarding and supporting its long-term sustainability and strategic growth. These new representatives are from Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East North Africa, Multiregion, and North America regions. In addition to the regional Trustees, six At-Large Trustees join them. At-large trustees ensure that the Global Council is composed of members with adequate and diverse professional skills and expertise to meet the legal and fiduciary obligations of the Global Council.
