Urology Austin was formed in 2008 following the merger of several independent urology practices. In 2018, Urology Austin and The Urology Team merged to form the largest private urology practice in the Austin metro area. Today, the practice has over 50 healthcare providers, 18 area locations, plus a centrally located radiation center. Our physicians and advanced practice providers treat female urology, male urology and general urology patients. We also have a growing team of pelvic floor Physical Therapists. Urology Austin providers are committed to staying at the forefront of the latest technologies, medical knowledge, surgical techniques, and advanced treatment options. Our comprehensive medical approach includes a nationally accredited in-house pharmacy, a nationally accredited in-house pathology laboratory, clinical research department, patient navigation programs and the Austin Center for Radiation Oncology.

Dr Charles Osterberg is the first in central Texas to use Optilume, a novel drug coated balloon, that allows for urethral dilation to treat urethral strictures of the anterior urethra. Currently 4-year data has the highest success rate of any non-invasive treatment for urethral stricture disease short of invasive surgery. Before Optilume, these procedures needed to be done in the hospital under general anesthesia. We are now happy to offer this in the office so that patients can recover quickly with minimal down time.

Dr. David Cuellar performed the first urologic surgeries in Austin using the new Da Vinci 5 robotic technology. This newest generation of the Da Vinci robot is the first and only system that gives the surgeon the ability to “feel” what they are operating on. Prior to this, it was all based on visual cues. It also provides more advanced 3D imaging, better ergonomics for the surgeon and with 10,000 times the computing power of prior generations, it allows for shorter surgeries.
