One crucial way the USCC works to grow and strengthen the #composting industry is to develop and administer national, valid, credible, and vendor-neutral certification programs for our industry's professionals. We believe robust programs like these enhance the profession of organics recycling facility management and, in turn, benefit community business and environmental outcomes. The USCC's Certification Commission does just that with its Certified Compost Operations Manager™ (CCOM™) Certification and Certified Composting Professional™ (CCP™) Certification. These two credentials further verify your professional expertise in composting operations and can potentially bring you benefits such as promotions, salary increases, and further career development. Participate in one of these certifications and enhance your reputation as a certified professional! While similar, each credential may ask for different requirements. Visit our Certifications website at the link below for information on eligibility and how to get certified. https://lnkd.in/eYEW7zk

With the rapid growth of organics recovery in the United States, it is important to dispel confusion that has arisen between the multiple forms of organics recycling. Head to the link in our bio to read USCC’s new white paper, which can serve as a user-friendly resource to help policymakers and the organics recycling industry distinguish between compost and, digestate, two commonly confused products of organics recycling.  https://lnkd.in/e-rEznpF

If you’re plugged into the composting scene, you might run into ads for food waste dehydrating devices, sometimes labeled as “kitchen composters.” Dehydrating food can be a pre-treatment for wet, heavy food scraps, removing the water weight and the ick factor of spent food. But it is not composting, and it does not create compost. Compost is organic waste transformed, not just dehydrated! You can check out USCC’s full Position Statement on these devices on our website https://lnkd.in/eug3F3jG!
