The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) Enterprise encompasses six business lines, boasting a workforce of more than 14,000 associates located around the globe. The command’s mission is to provide quality goods and services at a savings and support Navy quality of life programs for active duty military, retirees, reservists, veterans, Department of Defense civilians and families. The NEXCOM Enterprise is a non-appropriated fund instrumentality (NAFI) of the Department of Defense and the Department of the Navy. Therefore, most of NEXCOM’s expenses are paid with its earnings and not taxpayer dollars. About Our Business Lines: NEXCOM’s six business lines are: Navy Exchange (NEX), Ship Store Program, Uniform Program Management Office (UPMO), Telecommunications Program Office (TPO), Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility (NCTRF) and NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG). Our NEXCOM Internship Program goes beyond the desk to deliver hands-on experiences that truly immerses our interns in the mission. This summer, our interns got a firsthand look at the impact of their work by exploring the aisles of NEX retail stores to see how we deliver goods and services to our military community. They also toured Navy Lodge locations, understanding how we provide comfortable and affordable accommodations for traveling service members and their families. Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes? Our interns ventured into one of our distribution centers, witnessing the complex network that keeps products moving. And, in an experience they'll never forget, they toured a US Navy ship, gaining a deeper appreciation for the brave men and women we serve. These unique opportunities, combined with our professional development program, equip our interns with the skills and knowledge to thrive in any career path they choose.
Our summer at NEXCOM wouldn't be the same without this incredible group of interns! Highlighting our amazing summer interns! They've been assigned to various departments ranging from Merchandising, Marketing, Finance and even Food Operations. Individuals have come from across the country to be a part of our internship program. It's not all fun and games!
