We represent and support Area Agencies on Aging and advocate for Title VI Native American Aging Programs.

About us

USAging is the national association representing and supporting the network of Area Agencies on Aging and advocating for the Title VI Native American Aging Programs. Our members help older adults and people with disabilities throughout the United States live with optimal health, well-being, independence and dignity in their homes and communities and support their caregivers. USAging and our members work to improve the quality of life and health of older adults and people with disabilities, including supporting people with chronic illness, people living with dementia, family caregivers and others who want to age well at home and in the community. Together, we are ensuring that all people can age well. Our members are the local leaders that develop, coordinate and deliver a wide range of home and community-based services to support people to age well, including information and referral/assistance, case management, home-delivered and congregate meals, in-home services, caregiver supports, transportation, evidence-based health and wellness programs, long-term care ombudsman programs and more. USAging is dedicated to supporting the success of our members through advancing public policy, sparking innovation, strengthening the capacity of its members, raising their visibility and working to drive excellence in the fields of aging and home and community-based services.

This National Immunization Awareness Month we celebrate the members of our award-winning Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative (ADVC)! The ADVC partners with AAAs, Centers for Independent Living and other trusted community-based organizations nationwide to help older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers get flu, COVID-19 and other needed vaccines. Over the past year, our incredible ADVC members have held creative, fun events in their communities and helped people understand the need for these life-saving vaccines. And they’ve administered thousands of COVID, flu and other vaccines to help the people most vulnerable to serious illness stay safe and healthy. 👏💙👏💙 To get your fall vaccines, find an ADVC community provider near you: yougotthis.usaging.org. The ADVC is funded by a grant from the Administration for Community Living.

In partnership with USAging, we created a robust guide that includes articles, podcasts, recorded webinars, videos, and more on topics such as grief, parental substance use, and trauma. The resources were developed by different organizations for people in various roles, including frontline workers, organizational managers, and kin caregivers. Most can be read, viewed, or completed in 60 minutes or less. Spanish-language resources are included when available. Access the guide here: https://lnkd.in/gmMY8Wwj

A new tip sheet, from USAging’s partners at the Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network, offers guidance on finding affordable and no-cost childcare for children in kinship/grandfamilies. Childcare can provide kin caregivers with needed respite. According to a 2022 topical poll conducted by USAging for the Network, 26 percent of AAA and Title VI program respondents face a major challenge to their ability to support more kinship/grandfamilies due to the lack of available childcare when kin caregivers are receiving support. https://ow.ly/9OEj50SXbgs
