Congratulations to the winners of the USAIRE Inspiring the Future of Aviation Awards: Elodie Brunot and her initiative #passionaeroo and Aerospace Angels Jean-Michel Darroy. The Inspiring the Future of aviation award honors a person, a company, an association or an initiative that works towards the sustainability of aviation. There could be no sustainability in aerospace without people, but also without financing. USAIRE has chosen to award this distinction to a duo to emphasize what drives the development of our industry: people and cash. #People for the industry means above all finding the talent that will enable us to continue to innovate and attract the younger generation to our industry and #cash for the industry means financially supporting innovation.

USAIRE had the great pleasure to welcome Major General Patrick Aufort, head of the Agence de l'innovation de défense as guest speaker. It was an opportunity to provide a status on the scope of work of the agency and its concrete results, 6 years after its creation. Innovation has always been critical to defense sector but the introduction of dual technologies accelerates the cycle, and requires attention to ensure that no future technological capability gap occurs in the future. This is one of the many roles of the agency, supported by the French Ministry of Armed Forces 's funding for innovation as part of the 7-year defense planning law (LPM). The Agency's Innovation for Defense Orientation Guide (in French language) laying out is constantly updated vision statement can be found here: https://lnkd.in/eJnBwwRh Many thanks again to our guest for his brilliant brief and for the Q&A exchange and to the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée for hosting the event.
