Traditional #soil sampling methods may be leaving valuable insights undiscovered! The Canola Council of Canada highlights how focusing only on mid-slopes—the most productive areas of a field—can miss crucial data from lower-yield zones like hilltops, low spots or saline areas. By taking additional samples from these lower-yielding areas, farmers can uncover nutrient deficiencies that may be limiting their yields. Identifying these problem zones can help implement nutrient solutions such as reducing nitrogen or adding sulfur or potassium, boosting overall yield for a relatively low cost. For more accurate results, it’s also important to maintain proper sampling techniques and sample consistently year after year. https://ow.ly/MR8s50TVg5f #Agriculture #SoilHealth #FarmingTechniques #CropYield #SustainableFarming #Canola #PrecisionAgriculture #FarmingInnovation #NutrientManagement #CanolaCouncilofCanada
