New from the Commerce Meets Classroom blog this week: our back-to-school wishlist! We identified five priorities for the 2024-2025 school year as communities across the country continue the good work of getting students back on track after the pandemic. Student achievement should be our top priority this and every year, and in this blog, we highlight five key strategies that communities can take to support their students, including making smart spends of ESSER dollars, focusing on academic supports and attendance, and more work-based learning opportunities in schools and classrooms. Check it out below! https://lnkd.in/ekFNnCcZ

For the past 10 years, the #TalentPipelineManagement framework has connected employers, educators, and workforce development leaders to build meaningful career pathways and address critical skills gaps in industries like healthcare, construction, IT, early childhood education, and more. At this year’s #TPMNetwork Fall Summit, we saw that collaboration in action once again—partners from across the country sharing insights, best practices, and new ideas to take back to their communities. Thank you to everyone who joined us in #WashingtonDC this week and to all who champion TPM every day. 🔎 Take a closer look at the milestones and stories that have defined TPM’s first decade: https://lnkd.in/e_xg6xXJ #TalentPipeline #WorkforceDevelopment #WorkBasedLearning

Our #CivicTimeOff program is an initiative for companies to encourage their employees to serve as nonpartisan poll workers, filling a crucial shortage and giving employees firsthand insight into how our elections work. Travelers is a clear leader in this space. Through its nonpartisan civic engagement initiative, #CitizenTravelers, Travelers is providing employees with tools and opportunities to be effective and engaged citizens. The video below showcases three Travelers employees – Trish, Lisa and Tom – who are putting these ideas into action by assuming a pivotal responsibility in ensuring their community’s election runs smoothly and is fair and accessible to all.
