✍️ Dear members of US Club Soccer, US Youth Soccer and AYSO, In 2017, the U.S. Soccer Federation decided to change age group formation by school year (Aug. 1-July 31) vs. calendar year (Jan. 1-Dec. 31). Since the change was made, we have been reviewing the impact on our sport, specifically for players of all ages and competitive levels. Over the past few months, U.S. Soccer, at the request of its Technical Development Committee, has engaged in a review of that decision. We support these efforts and appreciate their approach to engage Organizational Members, leagues and clubs in collecting feedback. Additionally, US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer and AYSO have solicited and shared additional feedback with one another in an effort to make the most informed and appropriate decision for our sport. US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer and AYSO have been in constant communication on the topic, recognizing the importance of consistency across the three biggest youth soccer organizations in America. 📢 We are committed to being communicative through this process and supporting all of you. Youth soccer is a lot of things to a lot of people. For us, it's about development. How do we develop the next generation of athletes, coaches, referees and staff that grow our sport and provide valuable developmental experience for personal and collective success? Christa Tomczyk was one of eight event administration and operations interns this past summer, traveling with us in June for the National Cup Regionals and in July for the NPL Finals and National Cup Finals. The US Club Soccer internship program has provided valuable experience for the next generation of professionals who will join us in taking the amateur game to the next level. Interested in joining our next class of interns and gaining valuable sport management experience? Apply to be a part of summer '25 class here: https://lnkd.in/gNhKdD4X

Not too long ago, Deborah Silveira couldn’t imagine being a referee. She was a collegiate player, after all. Protesting calls, not making them, seems more natural for athletes. But when Deborah considered life after her playing career, she knew she wanted to stay involved in the sport. This could be a way to give back to the game, stay in shape and earn some cash. So, she gave it a shot, and now she’s hooked. Deborah has caught the eyes of FIFA referee pros and mentors who think she has what it takes to advance in her referee journey. Remember her name. We’re rooting for you, Deb! #BiggerThanSoccer
