This week, Acting Federal Highway Administrator Kristin White traveled to Tennessee and North Carolina as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation ongoing response to Hurricane Helene. During her visit, she assessed storm damage, thanked volunteers, and connected with those affected by the storm. FHWA is committed to expediting recovery efforts, working hand-in-hand with Tennessee Department of Transportation, North Carolina Department Of Transportation, and local partners to address the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. As we continue these efforts, U.S. DOT is closely monitoring Hurricane Milton. The whole-of-federal-government stands ready to support impacted communities, and preparedness efforts are underway in collaboration with state and local partners. Florida residents: Please heed evacuation instructions and get to safety as Hurricane Milton approaches. Together, we will support our communities in their time of need.
