The Nuclear Triad is vital to national security. As Gen. Anthony J. Cotton, United States Strategic Command commander, said at the #McAleese Defense Programs Conference, nothing provides national power like a modernized Triad and NC3. Satellites play a key role in the NC3, enabling threat detection, secure communication, and precision strikes. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gg2gJdtf

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket propelled the Dragon spacecraft into orbit, March 14, 2025, carrying United States Air Force Maj. Nichole Ayers, along with US Army Col. Anne McClain, who is serving as mission commander. Also on board is Takuya Onishi, an astronaut with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov. The spacecraft autonomously docked to the space station March 15, 2025, after approximately 28.5 hours of travel at 17,000 mph in orbit around Earth. Crew 9 is expected to undock and return to Kennedy Space Center in Florida today. https://lnkd.in/gZz5pMwY

As part of Exercise #FreedomShield, U.S. Space Forces Korea stood up a Combined Joint Space Operations Center, the first time to demonstrate its ability to rapidly deploy and receive mission system, execute Command and control, and provide Space Domain Awareness to the Combined Forces Component Commander. “The CJSpOC provides real-world satellite tracking. This information helps guide decision-making for, in this case, an exercise scenario,” said Col. John Patrick, commander of U.S. Space Forces—Korea. “Practicing interfacing with the decision makers will ensure that we can execute at the highest level.” 👉 https://lnkd.in/gU-dBaHv

#ICYMI #USPACECOM leaders welcomed Italian Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, and NATO Military Committee reps to the command’s headquarters. The visit was part of a larger engagement to meet with senior military space officials across Colorado Springs to enhance the Alliance’s understanding of space as an operational domain. “The current strategic environment requires international cooperation in space. Like Gen. Whiting often says, 'space is a team sport.' Having representatives from the NATO Military Committee here at USSPACECOM and in Colorado Springs this week, emphasizes NATO’s commitment to upholding their responsibilities to readiness, deterrence, and warfighter effectiveness across the Alliance,” said Maj. Gen. Brian Gibson, USSPACECOM strategy, plans and policy director. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gqqkgP5R

"Space dominance demands disruptive design thinking. The Space Design and Innovation 101 Course, aligned with Gen. Whiting's “Year of C2" guidance and the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Sergeant Major Troy E. Black’s strategy, empowers U.S. Space Command warfighters with the cognitive tools for continuous innovation–ensuring an ‘apex-advantage’ in our Astrographic [area of responsibility]." - Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, #USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader Learn more about the course here: https://lnkd.in/gAEvsa7S

At #AFAColorado, Lt. Gen. Thomas James, #USSPACECOM deputy commander, participated on the panel "Deterrence in an Increasingly Dangerous World" where he emphasized that joint military strength remains foundational to deterrence. "We have a tremendous ecosystem that allows us to build strength in our space capabilities," James said. "The exercises that we do, both with different services, across multiple domains, and alongside multiple Combatant Commands, shows that we're really good at how we operate as a joint force." 👉 https://lnkd.in/gWEJY-vb
