We're thrilled to welcome our international visitors from Africa who are participating in the "Ending Gender-Based Violence" program. This initiative focuses on sharing best practices for preventing gender-based violence, identifying and prosecuting abuse, and providing victim support. Our guests will explore how economic opportunities, education, and leadership can combat violence and learn about outreach efforts that promote women's rights and combat trafficking. Our esteemed visitors hail from Algeria, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Guinea, Kenya, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, and Zimbabwe. Today, our visitors will be meeting with the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA) and Centro de la Familia de Utah. We believe in the concept of Citizen Diplomacy - the concept that as citizens we have the right - even the responsibility - to help shape U.S. foreign relations "one handshake at a time." Our flagship program is the International Visitor Leadership Program administered by the U.S. Department of State.
