We are pleased to announce the promotion of Tony Lovett MBA, CHAM, to executive director of the Patient Access Center at UT Physicians, a part of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston). Since joining in 2015, Tony has played a pivotal role in enhancing patient care and modernizing call center operations through advanced technologies and strategic partnerships. In his new role, he will continue to improve patient access with initiatives such as centralized training, automated quality assurance, and workforce management. This year's UTHealth Houston Center for Digital Healthcare Innovation (CDHI) Informatics Summit was a dynamic day dedicated to exploring the future of artificial intelligence in health care. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with leading experts on the latest breakthroughs while enjoying fun, robot-themed activities. “This year’s summit provided countless examples of AI making a real difference in health care,” said Dr Babatope Fatuyi, chief medical information officer for UTHealth Houston. “This isn’t just the future of health care; it’s the present. We’re excited to be part of this transformation that directly benefits our patients and the community.” Congratulations to the 2024 CDHI Award recipients, Sonia Ahsan, MHA, and Julie Bortolotti, MD! Sonia Ahsan earned the 2024 CDHI Innovation Award for her exceptional work revolutionizing EKG integration into Epic, greatly enhancing patient care through AI. Julie S. Bortolotti, MD, was honored with the 2024 CDHI Physician Champion of the Year Award for her outstanding contributions to patient care, innovation, and leadership throughout the year.
