Faculty from The University of Texas at San Antonio and Tecnológico de Monterrey have developed a 3D virtual chemistry lab using VR technology to enhance STEM education through collaboration and accessibility. Supported by the UTSA-Tec de Monterrey Seed Grant Program, this lab aims to facilitate interactive experiments across distances, promoting inclusivity by providing access to expensive equipment virtually. The inaugural Data Science & AI Community Innovations Scholars program, a collaboration between the UTSA School of Data Science and United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, successfully concluded! This program offered 13 data science students a 10-week paid internship to gain real-world experience with local nonprofits. Students developed valuable skills in data analysis and career readiness while contributing to the nonprofits' missions. One master’s program. Two universities. Two countries. Two degrees. Students from UTSA and Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico are swapping campuses, as a unique new joint degree program is launched this fall. The collaborative program offers students the distinctive opportunity to take high-quality courses at both institutions and earn two degrees: a Master of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in cybersecurity from UTSA and a Master in Cybersecurity from Tec de Monterrey.
