The University of Vermont was instrumental in making me the person I am today — personally and professionally. There is something so special about UVM, the students, the faculty, the staff, and Burlington — and I am incredibly grateful for the experiences I had there. Thanks so much to the University of Vermont Foundation & Alumni Association for this lovely feature, which covers everything from my first snowball fight on campus and meeting my husband, to learning from Anthony "Jack" Gierzynski and Lisa Holmes and all of the work I've been doing in DC! Read the whole piece here: go.uvm.edu/perleoni If you're a UVM alum or student and want to talk about careers in DC, let's chat!
Ally Perleoni ’11 is called to help. 💚 As a health policy advocate, she’s secured the first two increases in Medicare-supported graduate medical education in nearly 25 years, obtained $178 billion in COVID-19 relief funds for hospitals, and negotiated a favorable agreement to end surprise medical billing. And she’s only getting started. 🌟 Read more of her story here ↪️ go.uvm.edu/perleoni

The semester is fully in swing this week! Campus buzzes with energy, faculty, and students, both new and returning. We are feeling rather grateful these days.🌟 So we wanted to share Sage's story -- one of our amazing students, and recent recipients of the Lionheart Scholarship. 💚 Sage reflects on their scholarship and says the biggest blessing is not having to think about college debt and money all the time. That it's allowed for all of the great experiences they've already had on campus. "Being at UVM has really brought back my love of learning." Watch their inspiring story, presented during our spring celebration of scholarship recipients and donors. Since then, we've been reflecting on what we learned about gratitude, and how much it means to have donors who make these significant and long-term commitments to UVM programs -- and to outstanding students like Sage. ↪️ https://lnkd.in/dPmAd55H in bio)

Maddy Cooney '26 has spent most of her summer at work. The physics major is leveraging her summer research -- funded by the Women in Science Fund -- to design and test semiconductor materials for future use in solid-state batteries. 💚 Contributing to advancements in clean energy technology in such a profoundly hands-on manner is invaluable to Maddy and her career journey. "This has honestly just been a dream so far," she reflects. This learning, and the possibility of a better energy future ahead, are made possible by one generous donor, a dedicated lab and department, and Maddy’s own curiosity and courage.🌟 Read more of her story here ↪️https://lnkd.in/e5zjC5qY
