Had an incredible and successful two days on Capitol Hill with PAR - Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability and ANCOR, advocating for better wages for Direct Support Professionals and better access for people with intellectual disabilities and autism. All told, I had fifteen visits with Pennsylvania and West Virginia congressional offices. I’m excited about our chances to see real recognition of the amazing work our Direct Support Professionals do in short order.

The month of September continues to be our month to recognize our Direct Support Professionals. We gave away a handful of Apple Air pods Pro randomly to DSPs in every region this month. One pair of Air pods Pro Max was given to our DSP Juanita who won our All Agency drawing! #SupportingPeople

ANCOR #DSPRW2024 might be in the books, but during this whole month of September we continue to recognize our Direct Support Professionals. Our Managerial and Administrative staff are distributing gifts to all of our DSPs this month in the form of branded stanley-esque mugs. It's a small token of our appreciation to those that are #SupportingPeople day in, day out.

Our Valley Community Services Direct Support Professional of 2024 is Taylor Stutz! There aren't many that are more highly praised than Taylor. As an Assistant Manager, her superiors note that she is continually improving and works hard to be a leader. At the same time, she takes any opportunity she can to spend another shift with individuals she supports. She has also received formal recognition by the parent of someone she supports. They note her selflessness and critical thinking when dealing with spontaneous or unforeseen situations. Please join us in congratulating Taylor Stutz! #SupportingPeople #DSPRW2024
