The Hub Secretariat had a productive and inspiring week during the G20 Health Working Group & Health Ministerial / High-Level Meetings in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Key highlights included: ☁ 🌍 Delivering an extended intervention during a #G20Brazil co-branded event focused on the need for (i) multilateral cooperation, (ii) strategic investments, and (iii) cross-sector engagement to fulfill the promise of the G20 Declaration on Climate Change, Health and Equity, and on One Health (World Economic Forum, National Academy of Medicine, Wellcome Trust). 🏥 💵 Contributing to a side event on advancing health financing in Latin America in partnership with Global Initiative on Health and the Economy (GIHE), FIFARMA, and B20 Brasil. The event highlighted key insights and policy recommendations from the Hub’s recent report, “Drivers and Barriers for the Implementation of Value Based Healthcare in Latin America”. 🤝 Building new connections to expand the Hub’s global network of partners, including promising meetings with Pan American Health Organization, Inter-American Development Bank, and Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz). 👍 Witnessing the reaffirmation of G20 support for the Hub’s work clearly stated in the G20 Health Ministers Declaration. The Secretariat also welcomed Brazil and Portugal as the newest additions to the Hub membership! Congratulations to the entire Brazil HWG team on the successful completion of your efforts to advance an ambitious and timely agenda centered on building more resilient health systems across the G20!
