We were one of the first U.S. asset managers to offer investors access to international markets. This set the tone for the firm’s drive to identify asset classes and trends—including gold investing in 1968, emerging markets in 1993, and Exchange Traded Funds in 2006—that subsequently shaped the investment management industry. Today, VanEck offers active and passive strategies with compelling exposures supported by well-designed investment processes. The firm’s capabilities range from core investment opportunities to more specialized exposures to enhance portfolio diversification. Our actively managed strategies are fueled by in-depth, bottom-up research and security selection from portfolio managers with direct experience in the sectors and regions in which they invest. Investability, liquidity, diversity, and transparency are key to the experienced decision-making around market and index selection underlying VanEck’s passive strategies. Since our founding in 1955, putting our clients’ interests first, in all market environments, has been at the heart of the firm’s mission.

The Fed will likely cut rates soon, what does that mean for #Gold? Historically, gold has performed well following the Fed’s first rate cuts. This is supported by our chart of the week, which shows the performance of gold in the 250- and 500-day periods following the start of the last three rate-cutting cycles. Check out Matthew Sigel, recovering CFA's updated fundamental thesis for publicly traded bitcoin miners, highlighting their increasingly important roles in AI/HPC (high-performance computing) and energy markets. https://lnkd.in/eJCkFX3S

#Bitcoin Miners are Shifting to #AI & High Performance Compute (HPC), Unlocking New Revenue Through Strategic Arbitrage We Estimate a $38B Net Present Value Opportunity by Converting 20% of their Collective Capacity by 2027. (For context, the combined market cap of the stocks we looked at is $19B.) This month, we update the fundamental thesis for publicly traded bitcoin miners, highlighting their increasingly important roles in AI/HPC (high-performance computing) and energy markets. We speak to many investors who are still unaware that bitcoin miners now have significant exposure to AI. The synergy is simple: AI companies need energy, and bitcoin miners have it. As the market values the growing AI/HPC data center market, access to power—especially in the near term—is commanding a premium. It turns out that some Bitcoin mining sites are ideal for capturing this value. Link to the full note and model in comments.
