In addition to improving gameday amenities and the fan experience, the Greater Zion Stadium West Side Expansion at Utah Tech University greatly enhanced the student-athlete experience. This project introduced new athletic training facilities, an updated football team locker room and lounge, and modern equipment issue spaces, all designed for optimal comfort and functionality. By creating comfortable environments with advanced training resources in an optimal layout, the new spaces help ensure that student-athletes thrive both on and off the field. High-quality, attractive facilities are essential for recruiting, showcasing Utah Tech's commitment to its athletic programs. The addition of a state-of-the-art skybox structure further solidifies the football program's Division I status, while specialized training areas prepare athletes for peak performance. These exciting upgrades elevate both the student-athlete and fan experiences, strengthening the university’s stature within the region. #ForAthletesToThrive #AthleticDesign #StudentAthlete #CollegiateAthletics

Timpview High School, originally built in the late 1970s, is undergoing a major transformation on the bench in Provo, Utah. Prompted by safety concerns from the community and district due to differential settlement in wet collapsible soils, our design effort focuses on eliminating the most problematic areas, structurally retrofitting others, and rebuilding essential facilities. The extensive renovation includes new multi-level wings to enhance classrooms and labs, as well as dedicated spaces for the arts, athletics, special education, and more. This pivotal project is crucial for the community, and we’re proud of the progress made so far. A big thank you to the dedicated members of the design and construction team for their unwavering commitment to excellence. #ForStudentsToThrive #EducationDesign #SchoolRenovation #VCBOArchitects

We're thrilled to see our K–12 team members, Jeanne Jackson and Brian Peterson, featured in Davis School District's latest "Behind the Build" video! In this video, they give a glimpse into the complex process of transforming initial design ideas for educational facilities into stunning, functional realities. By constantly modifying and fine-tuning different elements, every detail is meticulously considered to ensure student learning is always at the forefront of the design. "Designing schools is one of the best ways that we can help society to be a stronger and better place," Brian shared. "It's very rewarding to design a space and have that come to life — not only in a virtual way but an actual building that benefits the community. These kids can come into the building and thrive and discover who they are." Go behind the scenes: https://lnkd.in/g2dyqaiw #EducationDesign #BehindTheDesign #UtahArchitecture #VCBOArchitects

The new Juniper Elementary School has officially opened its doors! As the first multi-use school in the Jordan School District, Juniper is designed to serve both current and future students. Initially accommodating 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, the school is equipped with the flexibility to evolve into a middle school as the region grows, with future facility expansions planned to seamlessly integrate into the existing architecture. The building’s angular surfaces and 3D-patterned panels create dynamic, engaging interiors while undulating facades and large glass panels maximize natural light. Featuring 32 state-of-the-art classrooms, a tech atrium, and versatile spaces, Juniper is designed to meet the needs of today's upper elementary students while adapting to the community's future growth — blending function with forward-thinking design. 📽: https://lnkd.in/gXnvTAEa #EducationDesign #FlexibleDesign #LearningEnvironments #VCBOArchitects

The University of Utah Health Clinic at West High School was an innovative collaboration between our K–12 and healthcare teams. This state-of-the-art facility, housed in a transformed, unused locker room in West High, offers a modern, welcoming design with a dedicated lobby, four exam rooms, a lab, and support spaces. This partnership between the Salt Lake City School District, Salt Lake Education Foundation, University of Utah Health, and West High School represents a community-based approach to prioritizing student well-being. By providing accessible healthcare on campus, the clinic addresses critical barriers like transportation, cost, and time, ensuring that vulnerable students receive the physical and mental health care they need to thrive academically and personally. As the first of its kind in Utah, this clinic sets a new standard for school-based healthcare, with the hope that its success will inspire similar school-based health initiatives across the state. #ForStudentsToThrive #EducationDesign #HealthcareDesign #StudentWellness #VCBOArchitects

Last week, our Happiness Committee brought the spirit of the 2024 Summer Games to the office with the VCBO-Lympics! Our teams went all out, competing head-to-head in fun events like Nerf archery, broom hockey, plank races, lightning-round basketball, flying paper airplanes, and cup stacking, all for a chance to stand on the podium. 🏅 It was a blast cheering everyone on and celebrating the winners. On Monday, VCBO and Hughes General Contractors proudly joined Park City School District to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the new preschool and community education centers at Jeremy Ranch and McPolin elementary schools. These thoughtfully designed spaces provide safe, engaging, and inclusive environments tailored for early childhood education while also seamlessly incorporating community education and outreach areas accessible to all. Our goal was to create spaces within these existing schools where all students, staff, and community members feel a true sense of belonging. Congratulations to everyone involved on the successful completion of these remarkable facilities!
