Over the past two years, CHP alone has experienced impressive growth, adding $2 million in research funding. We closed FY24 with over $7M; in the first quarter of FY25, we're already at $4.491M. Our CHP faculty and staff are committed to more than just providing a world-class health professions education. Dr. Tracey Gendron, chair of VCU Gerontology and executive director of the Virginia Center on Aging, recently spoke at Harvard Medical School on the critical topics of ageism, ableism, and the intersectional influences on aging. During the presentation, Dr. Gendron explained how aging is influenced by intersecting identities and experiences, and emphasized elderhood as a key stage of later life development. We are incredibly proud of Dr. Gendron for representing the VCU College of Health Professions on such an esteemed platform and contributing to a deeper understanding of how we can create more inclusive and compassionate environments for all ages.
