On March 19th we held the Velocity launch event in the Netherlands with the event: “How Dutch Banking is leading the world in verified credentials” , hosted by Randstad. It was a great milestone as we celebrated the participation of Randstad and Rabobank on the Velocity Network Foundation Network. Attendance was huge: we had a standing room and lots of interaction around the topics we are passionate about, coming together in the mission of Velocity: to fix the broken data layer underlying the HR industry and to provide individuals with the basic right to own their own career data. We had a few excellent speakers:   * Joke De Groot and Oscar van Mourik, PhD from Randstad took us through a journey of skills-based hiring and how games helps to acquire relevant skills for the labor market. * Marc Jansen from Rabobank explained that trust is the essential element in skill development, and how the Velocity Network serves as the trusted infrastructure to share verifiable credentials. * Etan Bernstein from Velocity explained how the network operates and how the underlaying layer provides the necessary interoperability for individuals to own and share their career-related credentials on a global scale.  * In the panel discussion led by Meldy Van Dijken, the speakers, plus Jessica Göbel (Randstad) and Robert de Lange (Rabobank), had lively discussions about the different stakeholder motives, lessons learned from the integrations and the shared main key takeaway: just do it! Amazing time at the 1EdTech Consortium Digital Credentials Summit for a little Velocity Network Foundation/1EdTech++ family reunion! What I love about the digital credentialing ecosystem is we (1) are all a little fun, innovative, and risk-tolerant, (2) care deeply about education and work outcomes, and (3) are willing to collaborate to build a better future.
