Our Inaugural Impact Ireland Convention took place yesterday in association with Bank of America. The Convention brought together global thought leaders who actively discussed the power of impact investment to drive positive change in areas including climate, sustainability, health and education. Yesterday evening, we were honoured in the presence of An Taoiseach Simon Harris to award former US Secretary and Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Senator John F Kerry with the Impact Ireland Award. The day was a reminder that through entrepreneurial effort, collaboration, capital allocation and persistence we can drive positive outcomes to address our biggest global challenges. At our Impact Ireland Convention and Dinner we had the privilege of hearing from 30 global thought leaders including An Taoiseach Simon Harris, John Kerry, Edge and Mary McAleese. The message is clear, Impact Investing profits both investors and society. Friday, September 20th, was a day to remember as we gathered at the stunning Mount Juliet Estate for our Golf Day in support of AsIAm - Ireland’s Autism Charity. The weather was perfect, with sunshine throughout the day, creating an ideal backdrop for camaraderie, insightful discussions, and a touch of friendly competition. A standout moment was hearing from Adam Harris, CEO of AsIAm, who delivered a compelling talk on the charity’s profound impact and the importance of raising awareness about autism in Ireland. We were honored to host Bernard Brogan and Andrew Trimble as our keynote speakers. Their powerful stories of resilience, determination, and transformation from sports to business left a lasting impression on all of us. Their journeys from the field to entrepreneurship exemplify the strength and adaptability that can lead to success in any arena. A big thank you to all the golf teams, participants, and businesses that generously contributed prizes, making our raffle and prize ceremony a nice addition to the day. Congratulations to returning Wall Street 50 honoree Kieran McLoughlin. Kieran is Managing Partner of VentureWave Capital which has established one of Ireland’s first Impact Investing funds. The firm aims to deliver a commercial return for its clients by scaling high-growth technology companies from Ireland that benefit society. VentureWave’s Global Advisory Council, chaired by former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, promotes the case for Ireland becoming a global center of Impact Investing. Investments are underway in several highly innovative Irish Technology for Good enterprises. Previously, Kieran served as CEO of The Ireland Funds. During his ten years at the helm, $300 million was raised, which is half of the total amount The Funds raised since they were established in 1976. Annual grant-making increased by a factor of five, and the organization was awarded four stars (the highest level available) by Charity Navigator for its efficiency, transparency, and governance. Kieran serves on the North American Advisory Board of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, Glucksman Ireland House, and the John and Pat Hume Foundation. He is Strategic Advisor to Endeavor Ireland.
