    Hey busy professionals! 🌟 As we navigate the hustle and bustle of Q4 with budgeting for 2025, client meetings, and holiday festivities, let's remember some essential unspoken rules in business that are all about common courtesy. 🤝 Rule 1: When scheduling a Zoom meeting, send the invite promptly after receiving a YES to secure the slot. Remember, the requester should be the sender of the invite. ⏰ Rule 2: If you're running late from a previous call, shoot a quick email to the next meeting's attendees. Transparency goes a long way in respecting everyone's time. ⌛ Rule 3: Punctuality is key! If you anticipate being more than 5 minutes late, consider rescheduling. And if joining late, think twice to avoid disruptions. 💬 Rule 4: Keep your sales pitch concise! Aim for 20 minutes or less, allowing time for questions. Balance is key – if your presentation monopolizes the entire call, it might be time for a rethink.     Had a fun chat today with my former co-worker and now good friend about the early days of our careers and marketing. She had recently heard the marketing department evolution origin referred to as it's "Posters and Parties" days. Technology, data, and digital platforms has changed not only what we market but how we market. In the past, marketing was all about the big ideas and grand gestures. It was common to launch a new product with an exclusive event—something that would grab media attention and get people talking. Creativity mattered most, and campaigns were often measured by how memorable they were, not necessarily by their measurable ROI. This era produced some iconic work and it also left marketers guessing. Success was difficult to track, and strategies were mostly based on gut feeling and creative instinct. Data, that we all rely on today, played little to no role in shaping campaigns. The shift from creativity-driven marketing to data-driven marketing has transformed the industry into a blend of art and science. Today, we have a multitude of tools at our disposal allowing us to reach the right person at the right time, with the right message. But data hasn’t killed creativity. It’s only enhanced it. Instead of producing one grand creative piece, marketers can now generate multiple creative variations, each optimized for a specific audience segment. The challenge has shifted from coming up with one big idea to thinking in micro-campaigns, where every piece of content has a specific purpose and target. While the "posters and parties" era of marketing was about making a big splash, today’s marketing is about making precise waves in the right places. The blend of creativity and data-driven insights has allowed us to become more strategic, more agile, and ultimately more effective in reaching our target audiences.     There are approximately 476 million Indigenous peoples in the world. 🌎 They live across 90 countries, speak around 7,000 languages, and represent 5,000 cultures. But while their history and cultures are deep, the media tends to misrepresent them. 📺 Stereotypes of Indigenous people have been around since the early colonial days. They were portrayed as uncivilized and savages. Even now, Indigenous voices are under-represented in their perspectives which contributes to the marginalization of native peoples and leaves out an enormous cultural value to what we consume daily. As consumers, it is important to surround ourselves with wider perspectives.     On Wednesday, Sylvia Herrera and Cathy Murphy had the incredible opportunity to attend the #ChiefXNY event at Chelsea Piers, where they were inspired by powerful leaders like Alexandra Carter, Sallie Krawcheck, and even Tyra Banks.  Chief is all about fostering connections and uplifting #womeninbusiness, harnessing the collective strength of an amazing community. Listening to these incredible stories about the ongoing challenges women face in leadership roles across the United States reminded everyone of the strength and resilience required to break barriers.  Cathy, a proud founding member of Chief, has been deeply involved in this transformative organization since its inception over five years ago. So hearing Tyra Banks say, "Knowing when to pivot is the most important skill for an entrepreneur" resonated a lot with her role in #VenusMedia. The electric atmosphere of +1,000 women from all corners of the country came together to empower one another, forging meaningful connections, and working towards a brighter future for the next generation.
