Today we remember and give thanks the Joe's and Kinnard's who served and gave their lives for us. My dear friend and spiritual mentor Joe, served in the Vietnam war. He recently shared this story with me when he was in Vietnam of a young man named Kinnard who came into his unit. Kinnard was 20 years old. In his first encounter with Joe, he appeared very nervous and concerned about the casualty rate of the unit. Joe tried to comfort him as much as possible. Three months later, Kinnard was returned home in a body bag. Joe remembers Kinnard everyday. So today and everyday, we remember and give thanks to the Kinnard's who gave their lives for us and the Joe's who served and continue to serve us. May you all have a blessed Memorial Day.
