A Huge Thank You to Our Community! VSI would like to extend a heartfelt shoutout to the local community, especially local legend Dr. Chuck Lampley, and to everyone who generously donated their time and resources to support our Hurricane Helene Relief Program. Thanks to your incredible support, VSI was able to purchase and donate over $1,000 worth of emergency supplies to the Black Mountain, NC community, which was severely impacted by the storm. Upon arriving in Black Mountain, the scale of devastation was overwhelming, but witnessing the community come together to help one another and surrounding areas was truly inspiring—this sense of unity is exactly what VSI strives to embody. Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by Hurricane Helene. Our relief efforts will continue as Shelby and other towns begin rebuilding. If you'd like to support, please visit www.vetstability.org or check out our Facebook page to donate or request assistance.

Remembering Operation Market Garden 🇺🇸🇳🇱 In September 1944, Allied forces launched Operation Market Garden, a bold and daring two-part offensive aimed at securing key bridges in the Netherlands to open a route into Germany’s industrial heartland. The operation combined a massive airborne assault by over 35,000 paratroopers from the U.S. 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, the British 1st Airborne, and the 1st Polish Parachute Brigade, with a ground push by the British XXX Corps. Their mission was to pave the way for an invasion into Germany and shorten the war. Despite initial successes, the operation faltered when the British XXX Corps was unable to reach the final bridge at Arnhem. The defenders, overwhelmed by German forces, endured immense losses, with over 6,000 men killed or captured. This photo captures the bravery and determination of paratroopers amidst the wreckage of a crashed glider during the operation. While the mission ultimately fell short, the courage of these soldiers in the face of overwhelming odds remains legendary. Today, we honor the spirit of those who risked everything in the name of freedom. 🇺🇸🇵🇱 Heritage and Partnership 🇵🇱🇺🇸 I had the distinct honor of earning the Polish Parachutist Badge during an airborne operation led by a Polish Jumpmaster at the conclusion of Leapfest 2024. The exceptional Polish paratroopers, pictured below, received the Ward Award, an esteemed recognition for the international team that exemplifies the highest level of professionalism throughout the competition. The Illinois Army National Guard and the Polish Armed Forces share a longstanding relationship through the National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program (SPP), one of the first of its kind, established in 1993. Throughout the Global War on Terror, the Illinois National Guard maintained a Bilateral Embedded Staff Team (BEST) to serve as a liaison with the Polish military in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our forces worked together 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year, for over 15 years. I am proud to wear this badge on my service uniform, honoring both my family's heritage and the enduring partnership between our forces. #GoGuard #IllinoisArmyNationalGuard #StatePartnershipProgram #Leapfest2024 #Airborne #Jumpmaster #Ranger #WojskaLądowe #6BrygadaPowietrznodesantowa #WojskoPolskie

Excited to share my experience at Leapfest, the world's largest, longest-standing, international static line parachute training event hosted by the Rhode Island Army National Guard 🌎 🪂 Participating in Leapfest is an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow paratroopers from around the globe, enhance our airborne skills, and demonstrate our commitment to excellence and teamwork. Special thanks to my unit at the Warrior Training Center (BDE) for their unwavering support and to the organizers for putting together such a fantastic event. #Leapfest #Paratrooper #Airborne #Jumpmaster #StatePartnershipProgram

Meet Robert Salisbury, a proud Marine Corps Veteran, and his wife Lauri! In his service from 1979 to 1982, Robert was a 1371 Combat Engineer, dedicating his skills to our nation with a tour in Okinawa, Japan. After his service, like many veterans, Robert faced challenges, leading to homelessness and housing instability. Thanks to our wonderful partnership with Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania, we learned about Robert’s situation and were eager to help. While securing an apartment was a crucial step, we knew that turning a house into a home was just as important. We are thrilled to share that the Veteran Stability Initiative has provided Robert, Lauri, and their two nieces with a brand new bedroom set! 🛏️ It's our belief that small gestures can pave the way to stability and make a significant difference. 👉 Like, share, and consider making a donation at https://lnkd.in/evZtBuQM to help us support more veterans like Robert. Every contribution counts and brings us closer to a world where no veteran is left behind. 💙 #VeteranStability #HomeSweetHome #CommunitySupport #DonateToday
