The The Industrial Commons (TIC), born in Morganton, North Carolina in 2015, aims to rebuild a rural working class with locally rooted wealth. The VF Foundation and Smartwool are helping TIC foster wealth retention and worker agency to revitalize the region and serve as a model for sustainable, local economies through circular fashion. In 2023, TIC collaborated with Smartwool to help bring to life the Smartwool Second Cut™ Project to repurpose used socks into the first circular sock: https://lnkd.in/gH9KR2dT

"The Resilience Fund is emerging as a transformative corporate funding initiative. But it is also building a movement toward a more equitable and sustainable future — thanks to the “unlikely partners” that lead it." Thank you, United Nations Foundation, for elevating the power of this innovative model. We're grateful to be part of this collective effort to empower women as community change agents across Southeast Asia.
Women keep the global economy turning. Still, too many inequities are restricting them from playing a full and equal role in society. The Resilience Fund is changing that. This is how it’s reimagining corporate philanthropy: bit.ly/4cqSQNt

This summer, Timberland hosted students from Fashion Scholarship Fund's (FSF) Community College Scholars program at thier Herald Square store. FSF is dedicated to supporting and nurturing the future of fashion. And The VF Foundation's long-standing support of FSF to advance broader inclusion of non-traditional students in the fashion and retail talent pipeline gave the Timberland team the opportunity to share their personal career journeys and showcase a day in the life at Timberland. Now in its third year, the Community College Scholars Program includes students from seven community colleges across the country: Bronx Community College, El Camino College, Hocking College, Hostos Community College, North Shore Community College, Saddleback College, and Tarrant County College.
