Today, we remember those we lost on this day 23 years ago and honor the bravery of the first responders who answered the call. VGM’s building will be lit red, white, and blue in remembrance of the family, friends, and loved ones impacted. #neverforget 

September 10 is recognized nationwide as Hunger Action Day. And everyone can play a part in helping spread awareness. In Northeast Iowa alone, there are over 40,000 people, over 12,000 of which are children, who experience food insecurity. Every action can Make a Difference, whether that’s donating, volunteering, or just spreading the word around. The Canadian Seating & Mobility Conference (CSMC) starts tomorrow! Hosted by VGM Canada, this is the premier conference throughout all of Canada that brings businesses, manufacturers, and industry experts together for two days of educational and networking opportunities. VGM is going gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness month, lighting our building in gold tonight through Sunday.  Cancer is the #1 death by disease for children in the U.S., and over 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, which equates to a diagnosis every 2 minutes. Summer is nearing its end—and much like any time of the year, VGM employee owners had no shortage of Finding the Fun in Their Days. From Heartland to the DEI Pride Event to a Night at the Ballpark and everything in between, employee owners from across the country all had some memorable moments this summer. Check out a few highlights of what VGM had in store this summer. 

Since the VGM On-Site Child Care Center opened in November of 2023, a weight has been lifted for many working parents. For Irina Hageman, program underwriter for VGM Insurance, bringing her son Easton to VGM was the obvious choice. Before VGM’s child care center, working in the office was a bit of a challenge. She was driving out of her way to get Easton to day care, and the extra travel quickly added up between dropping him off and picking him up. But now at the VGM child care center, there’s no out-of-the-way travel for Irina. Parents also get some no-charge days, which can help reduce costs when they need to take their kids to an appointment or want to take them to a last-minute event. It’s another small detail that makes the on-site child care center a huge benefit.  The VGM On-Site Campus Child Care Center is operated by Community United Child Care Centers (CUCCC).
