It’s time for the five winners of our Viasat Beyond: Space competition to roll up their sleeves and get down to some hard work and strategic thinking as they join us for a Sustainability Experience Week in London. Throughout the week, the young students will get to: 💭 Collaborate on a product development simulation 📚 Take part in a Viasat Space University course ✈️ Visit Cranfield University's Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre (DARTeC) 🔭 Hear all about the European Space Agency - ESA Mars Express program! In April, the students took part in the final stage of our UK STEM innovation competition at our London office, where they presented their ideas on space sustainability. We’re excited for them to join us once more to further expand their space and sustainability knowledge. 🔗 Catch up on the UK STEM competition here: https://vsat.co/43JVZFg Ash Goldsmith Krish Thakrar Mesha Tennyson Amar Birring Isabella Hughes #stem #steam #stemcareers #steamcareers

📢📢 Just announced 📢📢 we're working with European Space Agency - ESA, to maximise #satellite capacity through #optical communications and #AI-based automation. Together with partners and ESA member states, the cutting-edge #AIDAN Next project will see us further develop our Optical Feeder Link system. We have already been working on the new technology through the first #AIDAN innovation project. The testbed project has been enabling industry partners to lower the barrier in the adoption of satellite communication-based services, enhancing performance and reducing costs compared with other technologies - primarily for fixed and mobile #satellite applications. Craig Miller, President, Global Space Networks, said: “This cutting-edge innovation is about developing new technology to deliver more bandwidth, with less complexity - and more efficiency. Doing so will help us continue to meet growing global communications demand and put our customers’ needs first, while sharing expertise with ESA and our project partners. For International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), we asked some of our women engineers to share any advice for those going into the field 👇 “In order to make improvements to any process, you must first listen and understand the current state, as well as what challenges are presented, what changes the team would like to see made, and what an ideal future state looks like,” shares Madison Danen, Industrial Engineer Eirini Dimitroula, Director of Network Operations Evolution, urges future women engineers to “start with the end in mind, and don’t be afraid to think big.’’ “Persistence and having the right tools are key to meeting this challenge and uncovering the right information. Asking the right questions and documenting everything is also crucial for overcoming the uncertainty,” shares Abigail Josephsen, Cyber Security Data Scientist. At Viasat, we're proud to have a rockstar team of women engineers. 🌟 Shoutout to Charlotte Petrides, Madison Danen, Katerina Skoulatou, Jennifer Wilder, Eirini Dimitroula, Marcy Sterling, Glorianne Francavilla, Abigail Josephsen, and Ashley Beckstead – to name just a few. 🌟 And if we forget someone...tag them in the comments to share the love! 🔗 Start your engineering career with us today: https://vsat.co/4cuveIj #weareviasat #womeninengineering #womeninstem #stem #steam #inwed
