When I first entered the world of real estate development, I believed it would be straightforward. However, after dedicating over a decade to this industry, I've come to deeply understand and respect the immense challenges and significant risks involved in achieving success. One particular project stands out—a journey that spanned more than eight years, from the initial assembly of waterfront homes to the intricate phases of design, permitting, and construction. Along the way, we faced unexpected hurdles, including the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the literal collapse and shutdown of a key bridge. Despite these challenges, we persevered and ultimately delivered a remarkable product that we are incredibly proud of. The true measure of our success lies in the satisfaction and love our new owners have for their homes. Receiving such a heartfelt testimonial from one of our latest residents is truly gratifying. www.InfinityShoreClub.com #Waterfront #Condos #WestSeattle #AlkiBeach #RealEstateDevelopment

I love my brother Jeremy’s concise and insightful writing. Lots of gems in this. I tried unsuccessfully raising money when I was earlier in my career as I thought I was smarter than my investors. But when I finally understood and respected my investors and had real ideas worth investing in, the money came in finally.

When we started Guidant, we planned to raise money and scale quickly. Did we get funding? Not even close. We weren’t ready. We just didn’t know it. We had lots of ideas but no proof points. We hadn’t done the work to clarify our hypotheses and test them. We were looking for the easy answer. We thought money should flow to our great ideas. We were wrong… and thank goodness. Had we obtained funding, we likely would have blown it. A large chunk of money would have allowed us to be sloppy. Instead, we had to be scrappy. We had to test our ideas in small ways. We had to let go of what didn’t work and double down on what did work. Funding might be the answer for you and your idea, but probably not. You probably need more work on the math behind your business idea. More work on your customer's story and the pain point you solve. More examples that show your ideas work in the real world, not just in your imagination.

Damn the higher interest rate and tough commercial real estate environment. Proud of our team for continuing to build much needed market rate affordable apartments in Portland. Total combined 315+ units in two buildings coming to one of the best neighborhoods in the heart of Portland. #keepbuilding #multifamly #realestate

Our Infinity Waterfront Condo Project on Alki Beach is featured on Patti Payne's Cool Pads. Here is a little excerpt from it. The Infinity Shore Club has 37 waterfront high-end luxury condominium estates, eight of which are already occupied. Wong describes it as a coming-of-age building for Seattle, built of concrete, steel and glass. “The city is ready for this largest waterfront condominium project in the greater Seattle area, with my concept of extending the living area from the interior all the way to the outside through glass NanaWall systems, which open totally to decks that are exclusive to you,” Wong said. Award-winning Seattle designer Susan Marinello and her team at Susan Marinello Interiors Inc. did the resort-inspired finishes. The decks are suitable for outside dining, designed to comfortably fit a table for six. A 15,000-square-foot common area includes an infinity pool and a hot tub. There's also a rooftop deck, a resident lounge, a concierge and a fitness center. “I build all over the Pacific Northwest,” he said, “and the way I think about this is that Alki is an iconic address. Everyone knows it." https://lnkd.in/gabirTdh
