#MarinerUpdate 110: The R/V CATAPULT, R/V TIOGA, OSV NANTUCKET SHOALS will conduct benthic habitat monitoring survey operations in coordination with Woods Hole Group and Geo Subsea, along the Vineyard Wind 1 cable route and surrounding waters. The work will take place during the period from September 6th to mid-October. Data collected during this campaign will provide the baseline benthic habitat data required for future analysis of the benthic environment along the Vineyard Wind 1 cable route. Mariner Update 109: Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Rutgers University, and Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon - Institute of Surface Science will be conducting an observational physical oceanographic study within the Vineyard Wind 1 Wind Development Area (WDA) as part of Project Ocean W’aKEs to identify the influence of wind turbine foundations on water column stratification. https://lnkd.in/eEJef4bv

Vessels in the water and crews patrolling beaches are performing cleanup as necessary on Nantucket, while overflight monitoring continues as we assist in the response to the damaged GE Vernova blade. Collections include incident debris and other refuse in the monitored areas. We are continuously updating retrieval, coordination, and safety plans and coordinating closely with municipal, tribal, state and federal stakeholders. We continue to assist in the recovery response following the unexpected damage to GE Vernova's blade. Vessels continue to collect debris, noting loads are lighter than prior days. On land, our crews helped collect additional debris identified yesterday. When island weather clears, crews will return to the beaches to continue operations.
