We got to bring out our electric and hybrid vehicles for the Harrisonburg Solar Tour last week! We spent the afternoon helping drive folks around the Friendly City to visit solar installations and learn about local sun power☀️ Our executive director Alleyn Harned was also a stop on the tour to talk about electric bill savings and EV charging with clean energy. Thank you Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Energy (CASE) for putting on this event!

The Clean Communities Economic Development Director, Southwest Virginia will oversee the expansion of efforts to advance air quality improvement, economic opportunity, and energy security through deployment of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure, educational programs, and other petroleum reduction efforts. Initial focus areas encompass Southwest Virginia to the Roanoke Valley. The incumbent will also service as an additional rural environmental stewardship and clean energy economy transition leader for VCC and related programs at JMU in mission to serve all people. Today, the Virginia Department of Energy announced the launch of the Virginia Clean Energy Innovation Bank (VCEIB) within the department’s State Energy Office to accelerate the deployment of clean power generation and energy infrastructure across the commonwealth. VCEIB will mobilize public and private capital to address critical financing gaps in the clean power generation and infrastructure sectors, supporting the goals outlined in Virginia’s All-American, All-of-the-Above Energy Plan.  Learn more at https://lnkd.in/eKtv2Axg
