Afton Scientific, LLC, one of our 2023 Client Success Stories, recently announce a major new expansion! Governor Glenn Youngkin joined in helping Afton Scientific announce its expansion. The company will be adding more than 200 jobs and investing millions into the company. “This is not just a small expansion. This is a big expansion, and that is such a vote of confidence in not just the future of Albemarle County, but the future of the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said Youngkin. Afton Scientific is a contract manufacturer of sterile injectable drugs. It has been in Albemarle County for more than 30 years. Afton Scientific CEO and Founder Tom Thorpe says the company currently has two building and the new expansion means a move onto a six-and-a-half-acre property for its new space. “Initially we think we will have 200 jobs to start, and maybe twice that when the building’s fully completed,” said Thorpe. “By us expanding, there’s new jobs, new opportunities for those apartment heads and new opportunities for the floor operators to progress throughout the organization,” said Thorpe. We look forward to seeing Afton Scientific's future successes! Read more: https://lnkd.in/eYCnPfNn

💼✨ What an incredible experience at the #ChallengeHer event in Washington, DC! ✨💼 I had the privilege of connecting with inspiring women entrepreneurs and government leaders, all committed to breaking barriers and fostering success for women-owned businesses. 🙌🏼 Hearing from Federal leaders such as Francine Morris, Alisa Sheard, Calvin J Mitchell Jr CFCM, Larry G. W., Jean Lin Pao, Exodie C. Roe III and industry advocates including Guy Timberlake, Angela Dingle, Sue (Schweim) Tellier, Sandra Eberhard and Courtney Fairchild was beyond motivating.
