To keep up with rising demand and continue delivering state-of-the-art transformers to our customers in the shortest lead times in the industry, we recently installed a second vapor-phase drying (VPD) oven at our Roanoke facility. These ovens are critical to our manufacturing process as they eliminate moisture from the core and coil, which increases the efficiency and lifespan of our units. This additional oven provides redundancy to our operations and doubles our drying capacity, allowing us to continue meeting the needs of our customers by manufacturing the industry’s finest transformers designed to have a 60-year lifespan.

Finishing up a busy few days at World Hydrogen Week in Copenhagen. Virginia Transformer presented during the sessions on the importance of transformers in hydrogen production; we recapped the first day’s highlights for attendees; and we hosted a cocktail reception for all attendees. Not to mention the series of customer meetings we held throughout the week. Stay tuned. We’ll share additional details on what we shared. Thanks to World Hydrogen Leaders for putting on a great week-long event.

Joshua Yun, SVP Sales and Marketing, participated in a panel discussion on Effectively Strategizing Power Supply for Electolyzer Operations at the World Hydrogen Leaders’ World Electrolysis North America conference in Boston today. After pointing out how vital it is for producers to be planning today for how they will secure their power transformer needs, Joshua invited all attendees to join Virginia Transformer Corp for a cocktail. As you can see, most attendees took him up on the offer!

We are proud to report our Rincon, GA team reached an incredible milestone: 79 consecutive units have successfully passed First Pass Yield testing. And they’re already working on making sure the streak continues! Congrats to the GTC and our Quality and Training teams for their drive and commitment to deliver reliable transformers to our customers. Pictured is part of the Rincon team who helped produce one of the units in the streak – a 80/133 MVA and 138/34.5 kV transformer for destined for a large LNG project in Texas.

Joshua Yun, our SVP of Sales and Marketing , recently detailed to the World Hydrogen North America Congress the key role transformers play in making the hydrogen economy a reality.
🎤 At the recent World Hydrogen North America Congress, we were pleased to be joined by Joshua Yun, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Virginia Transformer Corp. Joshua Yun takes us through Virginia Transformer’s journey to becoming the largest U.S.-owned transformer manufacturer in North America and the challenges in the hydrogen market. "Any hydrogen plant required transformers...but at this point, all the transformer suppliers are full. During the pandemic, a lot of projects were put on hold. Then once the pandemic was over, all the pent up demand released at once like a perfect storm. Lead times can be anywhere from 1-3 years... unless you are planning that into your overall project schedule, you're going to face a major issue." "We offer the shortest lead time in the electrical industry in North America. We have the largest production capacity and at the same time, we are able to hire more than enough people to have enough labor to produce the transformers." ▶️ Watch the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/euSM6Gi6 Thank you to Tyler Coxe Campbell and our Media Partners, H2TechOnline for their support in conducting this interview. A lot of additional opportunity for transformers as these come online.
🗞️U.S. Plans to Dramatically Expand Hydrogen Fuel Production Using Electrolyzers 📰 'Developers in the United States have plans to expand hydrogen production using technologies that use electricity to produce hydrogen from water'. 📰 'If built, they would expand capacity in the United States from 116 megawatts (MW) of current capacity to 4,524 MW, according to information collected by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrogen Program Record'. 📰 Furthermore, 'If all the planned projects are implemented, annual U.S. production of hydrogen through electrolysis could total about 0.72 million metric tons (MMmt) compared with the current 10 MMmt of hydrogen currently produced from fossil fuels and as a by-product from other industrial sources'. 📰 '"We are currently developing a new hydrogen supply model, and adjusting consumption models to better incorporate hydrogen projections in our Annual Energy Outlook for 2025."' 🔎 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/euEP3AkT Interested or involved in the North American electrolysis sector?
