Clean energy, air quality, and strong U.S. jobs are essential. That’s why Viridi RNG is proud to advocate for the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB's) Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) update. This program has been pivotal in incentivizing the use of sustainable transportation fuels – including renewable natural gas (RNG) – that have successfully replaced 60% of all traditional diesel in California in just a few years. Moreover, the LCFS provides much-needed stability for those investing in and operating RNG projects, it helps decarbonize heavy-duty transport and support wider passenger EV adoption, and it incentivizes farmers to prioritize anaerobic digester adoption that fuels communities. As a member of the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas, we believe policies like the LCFS help build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future that benefits everyone. #YestoLCFS #RNG #renewablegas

Viridi RNG’s Tamara Siskind recently joined industry leaders at the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) WasteCon event in Texas to network and share the latest waste management insights. This year’s event included discussions on the ways emerging technologies are helping to better manage PFAS, how new organics management programs across the U.S. are working to keep food waste out of landfills, how anaerobic digestion can support organics diversion and biosolids management at landfills, and why the number – and success – of landfill gas-to-RNG projects are increasing across the country thanks to improved developer selection and community buy-in. At Viridi, we remain dedicated to collaborating with our peers and staying on top of industry best practices as part of our commitment to building North America’s leading RNG platform. #WASTECON2024 #SWANA #RNG

Biomass Magazine recently featured an op-ed from Viridi RNG President and COO Chet Benham, sharing his thoughts on “RNG’s Rise from Alternative to Essential Energy.” In the piece, Chet discusses how RNG has evolved from a novel engineering feat to a fixture of modern energy grids over the last two decades: “At Viridi Energy, we see emerging infrastructure as an essential driver of the next chapter of RNG. In the coming years, RNG will increasingly enter the everyday lives of regular energy consumers – not just as a fuel for specialized uses, but as a true complement to traditional natural gas in powering everything from home heating systems to the electricity grids that keep their lights on.” To read more of Chet’s insights on the opportunities and responsibilities facing the industry today, check out his full article here: https://lnkd.in/eT-VuEgX

Earlier this week, Viridi RNG President and COO Chet Benham sat down with IJGlobal Editorial Director Angus Leslie Melville for a wide-ranging discussion on the state of RNG in North America for the latest episode of the Infra Dig podcast. Chet shared how RNG has become an integral fuel powering the energy transition, why technological developments are reducing costs and improving performance, and how projects like our flagship American Organic Energy facility stand to redefine waste-to-energy impacts in communities across the country: “American Organic Energy is a project in Long Island, New York, that will take 210,000 tons a year of food waste from Nassau County and Suffolk County on Long Island and the five boroughs of New York City – and turn that into the equivalent of 10 million gallons a year of gasoline. So, if you think about 210,000 tons of waste turned into that amount of gasoline-equivalent fuel, it’s a pretty significant energy source.” Listen to the full podcast episode here: https://lnkd.in/eypqG4bn #renewableenergy #rng #renewablenaturalgas #energy
