Virtual Hand to Shoulder Fellowship, LLC is unique in the landscape of continuing education because we offer curriculum-based education in upper limb and hand therapy with mentorship to help cultivate needed critical thinking skills for different levels of learners, from introductory-level to advanced. We are patient care providers and regardless of where we are in our career trajectory, VHSF believes we expedite the development of critical thinking by making knowledge accessible and understandable. The requisite knowledge is too specialized and too vast to include in PT and OT curriculums. Virtual Hand to Shoulder Fellowship, LLC (VHSF) was privileged to host Dr. Rick Tosti from Rothman Orthopaedics for an outstanding presentation on managing wrist arthritis. Dr. Tosti delivered a comprehensive review of wrist anatomy and kinematics, shedding light on the progressive factors contributing to this challenging condition. He shared an array of medical management strategies, with a special focus on advancements in wrist replacements. To enhance the session further, VHSF faculty member Mike Mueller, OTR/L, CHT—a close collaborator of Dr. Tosti—offered invaluable insights on rehabilitation management, bridging the gap between surgical interventions and therapeutic care. Another day in the VHSI & Cedar Crest College hand therapy pro bono clinic where students have the opportunity to learn about the hand therapy specialty while also supporting community needs. The OTD students will be involved in different areas of this developing pro bono clinic, from maintaining inventory, to getting the word out to local practices, and eventually hosting some community educational events. We will also have capstone project opportunities which invites all kinds of possibilities.
