In early 2024, Smithsonian Magazine named Kyrgyzstan the “next adventure travel destination,” but we’ve long known about its incredible beauty and charm. Led by Justin Black and Jerry Dodrill, this carefully crafted itinerary takes you deep into the spectacular Tien Shan mountains—soaring higher and wilder than the Rockies or Alps. From glacier-carved gorges and alpine wildflower meadows to grazing herds of horses and yaks, every moment will be a photographic treasure. Capture stunning vistas beneath towering peaks like Khan Tengri (23,000 ft.) and Jengish Chokusu (24,400 ft.), and experience the untouched beauty of a region that’s still largely undiscovered by tourists. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to photograph wildlife like golden eagles, ibex, and possibly even snow leopards, as well as Kyrgyz herders in their traditional high-pasture yurts.
