Visit Orlando partnered with UK actress, Meesha Garbett, to showcase the destination to her 67,000 Instagram followers during her recent visit to Orlando. At the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, alongside students from the School of the Arts, she performed her Tik Tok viral dance from the 2022 Netflix adaptation of Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical. These talented young artists staged their version of Matilda the Musical at the arts center earlier this year. This unique collaboration helped Orlando’s arts community and our local talent shine in front of an international audience.

Now in its 19th year, Visit Orlando's Magical Dining presented by Orlando Health has become a well-regarded fall tradition. With over 150 restaurants serving three course menus for $40 or $60 through Sept. 30, Visit Orlando is working hard to promote the restaurant offerings. We’ve implemented promotions through a mix of outdoor advertising, paid social media, digital displays and working with Yelp on events for their elite Yelpers. We also hosted exclusive media dinners and welcomed nearly two dozen food-focused writers, influencers and content creators for preview dinners at two of our newest program restaurants: Crocante in East Orlando and Braccia Restaurant in Winter Park. These events were designed to generate buzz and excitement for the program, helping to ensure a successful start. Find out more about Magical Dining: https://lnkd.in/eTdFBgGP

Exciting news from Visit Orlando's Insights Luncheon & Economic Forum! #Tourism remains a major driver for our community, and we’ve got the numbers to prove it. With insights from Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economic company, we’ve released new data on the economic impact of 2023 visitation: • 74 million visitors in 2023 contributed $58.5 billion in spending, resulting in a total economic impact of $92.5 billion—a 5.6% increase. This is equivalent to hosting the Super Bowl nearly twice a week for an entire year. • Tourism supported 464,000 local jobs and generated $12.6 billion in government revenue, which reduced the annual tax burden on local households by $7,400. Visit Orlando recently hosted representatives from AVIAREPS, who serve as an extension of our travel industry sales team in nine key international markets (Canada, UK, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Nordics and India) for an education and immersion event. The focus was on ensuring the agency representatives were up-to-date with the latest developments in Orlando, with an emphasis on areas beyond the theme parks and accommodations. The team members then apply their enhanced knowledge of the destination to educational training for in-market travel advisors and partnership opportunities with the travel trade.

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining® presented by Orlando Health begins today! In its 19th season, the program runs through Sept. 30 with a record-breaking 150+ restaurants, including 24 new restaurants and nine recognized by The MICHELIN Guide. Throughout the six-week run, restaurants will offer three-course, prix-fixe menus for $40 or $60, continuing the tiered menu system introduced in 2023. Each year, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining selects nonprofit organizations that impact the Orlando community as charity beneficiaries, with $1 for each $40 meal and $2 for each $60 meal going to the organization. This year’s beneficiary is The Mustard Seed of Central Florida, focused on helping residents and families recover from hardships while minimizing environmental impact. Orlando was named the host city for ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Exposition in 2031! ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership is the premier global professional organization for association executives and their annual meeting is often referred to as the “Super Bowl of meetings.” It’s the world’s largest annual educational and networking conference for the association profession. When selecting host cities for the ASAE Annual Meeting, ASAE considers factors such as convention center facilities, hotel packages, and venue options for evening events. Other site selection criteria include the geographic location, the commitment of the host city to deliver new experiences for ASAE attendees, and the support of local city officials and hospitality industry leaders, as well as the city’s relationship with ASAE. https://bit.ly/4ctuMts
